April Karate Competition Training

Class Times: April 18 – 20, 9:00 am-2:00 pm.
Learn the ins and outs of tournament prep, including weaponry, sparring, and forms!

Class Times:

  • Ages 5-7: Thursdays 4:00 – 5:00 pm, Thursdays 5:00 – 6:00 pm, Fridays 4:00 – 5:00 pm, Fridays 5:00 – 6:00 pm, and/or Saturdays 9:00 – 10:00 am
  • Ages 5-12: Fridays 7:00 – 8:30 pm
  • Ages 8-13: Thursdays 4:00 – 5:00 pm, Thursdays 5:00 – 6:00 pm, Fridays 4:00 – 5:00 pm, Fridays 5:00 – 6:00 pm and/or Saturdays 10:00 – 11:30 am

SPRING 8-Week Session: starts week of 3/20.  (No class week of 4/17. April Vacation.)
Class Description: Featured in movies like Crouching Tiger and Kung Fu Panda, WuShu combines the intensity of martial arts, the dynamic movements of gymnastics and the artistry of ballet. Join Harvard and Wellesley College coaches, Xiaoyi Chen and Calvin Wang, for a genuine WuShu class.


YOUTH KEMPO KARATE

Tumbling Tigers (3-5 years old)
Instructor:

Class Times:  Saturdays, 9-9:30am or Saturdays, 12-12:30pm
WINTER 8-Week Session (9-9:30am): 1/7 – 2/25.  (Snow make up days: 3/4, 3/11.)
8-Week Session (12-12:30pm): 1/21 – 3/11.
SPRING 8-Week Session: 3/25 – 5/13
Class Description: This class focuses on safety, combined with fun games and basic karate and tumbling.
Tuition: $123/8-week session

Leaping Leopards (4-5 years old)

WINTER 6-Week Session: 1/9 – 2/27.  No Classes 1/16 and 2/20.
SPRING 8-Week Session: 3/13 – 5/8.  No Class 4/17 (April Vacation.)
Class Description: Leaping Leopards is designed for students who have moved beyond our Tumbling Tigers program, but are still working on readiness for the Youth Black Belt program. This class focuses on karate basics and safety while also emphasizing listening skills and teamwork.
Tuition: $123/8-week session

Youth Black Belt Program (4-9 years old)
Instructor: Sensei Nathan Porter
Class Times: Mondays-Thursdays 3:10-4pm, Thursdays 4-4:50pm, Mondays-Thursdays 5-5:50pm, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 6-6:50pm, Saturdays 10:00-10:50 and 11:00-11:50am
Class Description: This dynamic class is known for its fun games, and teamwork oriented environment. Children (4-9) learn a mix of traditional Kempo Karate with elements of grappling. This gives the child a true self-defense perspective all while having fun and building confidence. Find out first hand why the instructor was inducted into the World Martial Arts Federation 2010 Hall of Fame for “Outstanding Youth Instruction”.
Tuition: $123/month for 2 classes per week and a bonus Dragon class

Teen Black Belt Program (10+)
Instructor: Sensei Nathan Porter

Class Times: Monday-Wednesday 4-4:50pm
Class Description: Our Warrior class is geared toward pre-teens and students with advanced blue belts and higher.. The program “steps up” the Youth Kempo with more mature self-defense, and a more in depth belt curriculum. Everything from history to weaponry is part of this class.
Tuition: $123/month for 2 classes per week and a bonus Dragon class

DELTA Team Class
Instructor: Sensei Nathan Porter

Class Times: Thursdays 6-6:50pm
Class Description: This class is for those youth students who have achieved a brown belt or higher.  This class focuses on the advanced forms, combinations and techniques needed to achieve a black belt.
Tuition: Included in the monthly tuition as one of the two classes


Youth Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Instructor: Bernadette Robinson
Class Times: Wednesdays 4:00-5:00pm and 5:00-6:00pm
Class Description: This class safely teaches you self defense through positioning for throws along with techniques to control your opponent from the ground. The approach to competition is fun and exciting. Classes are available for all ages and ability levels. Learn from a true master in the art!

Tuition: $50/month ($40 for current karate students)

Youth Tae Kwon Do
Instructor: Mukendi Kasongo
Class Time: Fridays, 4:30-5:45pm
Class Description: Tae Kwon Do is the Korean Martial Art. Our class starts out with jumping jacks, stretches, push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and leg raises. After this, we practice kata, kick combos, self-defense and much more. You get good cardio training by the end of each class.
Tuition: $60/month ($30 for current karate students)
