Ruth Lieberherr, PhD, ERYT 200, Integrative Aerial Yoga Teacher, Reiki Level I &II, Certified Fleming Elastics (TM) Trainer
Since early childhood Ruth has loved movement, dance and various sports (like swimming and skiing). After practicing yoga since 1987, Ruth started a year long teacher training with Deborah Cohen (Core Yoga) in 2003 to deepen her own practice. She received her yoga teacher certification from her in 2004. Ruth discovered that she loved to teach yoga and enjoyed sharing her love of yoga and movement. Since then she has been teaching a wide variety of yoga classes, from vigorous flow classes to prenatal and senior yoga in various studios and gyms. She create a supportive environment in her classes, addressing the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga. Ruth’s classes offer a mix of holding varied poses and flowing through asanas. After doing Aerial Yoga for a number of years, Ruth trained as an Aerial Yoga Teacher with Joanna Keseberg and was certified by her as an Integrative Aerial Yoga Teacher in June 2013. She is registered as an Experienced Yoga Teacher (ERYT 200) with the Yoga Alliance and is a Reiki practitioner (Level I and II).
Trained as a dancer and in 2012 as a Fleming Elastics (TM) Trainer, Ruth gives special attention to alignment, including touch corrections. She has received an award for her prenatal yoga teaching at Isis Parenting in 2009. Originally from Switzerland, Ruth holds a PhD in German Language and Literature from the University of Zurich. She is an artist, illustrator, liturgical dancer, mother and grandmother. She has illustrated a yoga picture book for children (among other picture books),Journey to Inner Space (written by Deborah R. Cohen).
