Beginner Chess

The practice of chess has been scientifically proven to enhance critical thinking and logic skills in students of all ages. A beginner’s chess workshop will provide individuals with the opportunity to develop their mental stamina, enhance their cognitive reasoning, and learn practical life skills. The practice of chess can help students grow mentally, which in turn can help them grow physically.

In our April and Summer program, we will examine many essential elements of chess. We will cover the history of the game, dissect key opening and endgame strategies, and participate in a mini in-house tournament. Students will also work together in groups, learning to solve basic chess problems and to relate chess strategies to real-life decision making.
